Outline Itinerary:

Day 1: Drive to starting point, safety briefing, and raft 12 km from Charaudi to Kuringhat, camping and bonfire.

Day 2: Raft 12 km from Kuringhat to Simaltal, option for cliff jumping and swimming, camping and bonfire.

Day 3: Raft 12 km from Simaltal to Gaighat, option for kayaking or exploring villages, departure by vehicle to Kathmandu or Pokhara.

Day 1:

The first day of your rafting adventure will start with a drive from either Kathmandu or Pokhara to the starting point of the rafting trip, which is Charaudi. The distance from Kathmandu to Charaudi is approximately 85 km, and from Pokhara, it’s about 97 km. The drive will take you through scenic landscapes and small towns, and you can expect it to take around 3-4 hours.

Once you reach Charaudi, you will receive a safety briefing and demonstration by the rafting guide. This is an essential part of the trip as it will help you understand the basics of rafting, such as how to paddle, how to hold the paddle, and how to maintain balance in the raft. The guide will also give you instructions on what to do in case of an emergency, such as if the raft flips over.

After the briefing, you will start rafting from Charaudi to Kuringhat, covering a distance of approximately 12 km. This stretch of the river is classified as Class III, which means it has rapids that are moderate in size and require some maneuvering to navigate. You can expect to encounter rapids such as “Ladies Delight,” “Upset,” and “Monsoon,” among others.

In the evening, you will reach a riverside beach where you will set up camp. You will have the option to swim in the river or just relax on the beach. You will also get to enjoy a bonfire and dinner under the stars, which will be a perfect way to end your first day.

Day 2:

On the second day of your rafting adventure, you will raft from Kuringhat to Simaltal, covering a distance of approximately 12 km. This stretch of the river is also classified as Class III, and you can expect to encounter rapids such as “Sweetness and Light,” “Overland,” and “S-Bend.”

During the rafting trip, you will also have the option to do some cliff jumping and swimming if you are feeling adventurous. Cliff jumping involves jumping from a cliff into the river, and it can be a thrilling experience. However, it’s important to note that cliff jumping is entirely optional, and you should only do it if you are comfortable and confident.

In the evening, you will reach another riverside beach where you will set up camp. You will get to enjoy another bonfire and dinner under the stars, which will be a great way to relax and unwind after a day of rafting.

Day 3:

On the final day of your rafting adventure, you will raft from Simaltal to Gaighat, covering a distance of approximately 12 km. This stretch of the river is also classified as Class III, and you can expect to encounter rapids such as “Pinball” and “Twins.”

During this part of the trip, you will have the option to go kayaking or explore nearby villages. Kayaking involves using a small, one-person boat to navigate the river, and it can be a fun and exciting way to experience the river. If you choose to explore nearby villages, you will get to see the local culture and way of life up close.

In the afternoon, you will depart by vehicle to either Kathmandu or Pokhara, depending on where you started the trip. The drive back will take you through more beautiful landscapes, and you can expect it to take around 3-4 hours.
