Overview

Mount Kanchenjunga stands tall at the height of 8586m and is the third tallest peak in the world and the second highest peak in Nepal. You can be in any corner of the world and you will still get the chance to be a part of the interesting Mount Kanchenjunga expedition with Alpine Paradise Treks and Expedition.

The peak consists of four summits and the expedition to the top of the peak is surely a mind blowing one. Kanchenjunga is one of the most difficult peaks to scale, and also one of the most adventurous ones.

The tranquillizing atmosphere, the solitude and the splendid view of great Himalayas are something you would be blessed with in the journey of the Mount Kanchenjunga expedition.

For climbing Kanchenjunga one must be in good physique and should be immune to extreme cold weather. Also, prior experience of mountaineering would be mandatory. The climb would be psychologically challenging so one must have great deal of patience and endurance.

Mount Kanchenjunga expedition is comparatively remote so its pristine beauty is highly preserved.  One can enjoy the mesmerizing view of Dhaulagiri massif. Best Season:

The best season to climb Mt Kanchenjunga, it is typically between April and May and September to November. These months offer the best weather and visibility conditions for climbers.

Permits & Regulations:

  1. Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Permit (KCAP): To enter the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area, climbers need to obtain a KCAP. This permit is issued by the National Trust for Nature Conservation and can be obtained through a registered trekking agency in Nepal.
  2. Restricted Area Permit (RAP): The Kanchenjunga region is a restricted area, and climbers need to obtain a RAP from the Nepalese government. This permit is issued by the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu and requires a minimum of two climbers.
  3. Mountaineering Royalty: Climbers need to pay a mountaineering royalty fee to the Nepalese government to climb Mt Kanchenjunga. The amount varies based on the season and number of climbers.
  4. Trekking Agency: Climbers are required to climb with a registered trekking agency in Nepal.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Day 02: Expedition preparation and briefing

Today is dedicated to preparing for the expedition and attending a pre-expedition briefing. During the briefing, you will meet your expedition team, including your guides, porters, and support staff. You will receive detailed information about the upcoming journey, including the itinerary, safety precautions, and equipment requirements. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have and to get to know your team members.

Day 03: Drive to Ilam, Fhidim, Kabeli Khola – Camp

After breakfast, you will begin a scenic drive towards Ilam, Fhidim, and Kabeli Khola. The journey will take you through beautiful landscapes, including lush green hills, cascading waterfalls, and small villages. You will stop at various points along the way to enjoy the scenery and take photographs. Upon reaching Kabeli Khola, you will set up camp for the night.

Day 04: Kabeli Khola – Sikaicha – Camp

Today, you will continue your drive toward Sikaicha. The road will wind its way through small villages and beautiful scenery, including terraced fields and dense forests. You will stop along the way to stretch your legs and take in the stunning views. You will set up camp at Sikaicha for the night.

Day 05: Sikaicha – Khesewa – Camp

After breakfast, you will drive towards Khesewa. The road will take you through several small villages and along the banks of the Kabeli River. You will have the opportunity to interact with the locals and learn about their culture and way of life. You will set up camp at Khesewa for the night.

Day 06: Khesewa – Mamankhe – Camp

After breakfast, you will drive towards Mamankhe. The road will wind through beautiful rhododendron forests and past several small villages. You will have the opportunity to spot local wildlife, including birds and monkeys. You will set up camp at Mamankhe for the night.

Day 07: Mamakhe – Yamphudin 1670m – Camp

Today, you will drive to Yamphudin, a small town located at an altitude of 1670 meters. The road will take you through dense forests and across several rivers. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to stop and take in the stunning scenery. You will set up camp at Yamphudin for the night.

Day 08: Yamphudin – Chittre (Omje Khola) Camp

After breakfast, you will continue driving towards Chittre. The road will take you through beautiful landscapes and small villages. You will have the opportunity to interact with the locals and learn about their way of life. You will set up camp at Chittre for the night.

Day 09: Chittre – Torontan – Camp

Today, you will drive to Torontan from Chittre. The road will take you through dense forests and across several rivers. You will have the opportunity to spot local wildlife, including birds and monkeys. You will set up camp at Torontan for the night.

Day 10: Torontan – Tseram – Camp

After breakfast, you will continue driving towards Tseram. Along the way, you will see beautiful landscapes and several small villages. Tseram is located at an altitude of 3870 meters and is surrounded by dense forests and towering mountains. You will set up your camp at Tseram for the night.

Day 11: Tseram – Ramze – Camp

Today, you will drive to Ramze from Tseram. The drive will take you through dense forests, and you will see beautiful landscapes. Ramze is located at an altitude of 4620 meters and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. You will set up your camp at Ramze for the night.

Day 12: Ramze – Glacier – Camp

After breakfast, you will continue driving towards Glacier. Along the way, you will see beautiful landscapes and cross several rivers. The Glacier campsite is located at an altitude of 4940 meters and offers breathtaking views of the Kanchenjunga range. You will set up your camp at Glacier for the night.

Day 13: Glacier – Kanchenjunga Base Camp

Today, you will drive towards Kanchenjunga Base Camp, which is located at an altitude of 5100 meters. You will see magnificent views of the Kanchenjunga range along the way. Kanchenjunga Base Camp is the starting point for the climb to the summit of Kanchenjunga. You will set up your camp at Kanchenjunga Base Camp for the next few weeks.

Day 14-40: Climbing period Kanchenjunga 8586m

This period is dedicated to climbing Kanchenjunga, the third-highest peak in the world. You will spend several weeks acclimatizing to the high altitude, training, and making your way up the mountain. The climb will be challenging, and you will need to be physically and mentally prepared for the journey.

You will climb through several camps, each one higher than the previous one. You will need to acclimatize to the altitude at each camp before moving on to the next one. The climb will require technical skills, including using ropes and harnesses, ice axes, and crampons. You will also need to be prepared for the cold temperatures, high winds, and other challenges that come with climbing at high altitudes.

Day 41: Base Camp – Ramje – Camp

After the climbing period, you will begin the journey back towards Ramje. This will be a long and tiring journey, but you will be able to reflect on your incredible achievement of climbing Kanchenjunga. You will set up your camp at Ramje for the night.

Day 42: Ramje – Amije Khole – Camp

Today, you will continue driving toward Amije Khole. Along the way, you will cross several small villages and beautiful landscapes. Amije Khole is located at an altitude of 2340 meters, and you will set up your camp for the night.

Day 43: Amije – Yamphudin – Camp

After breakfast, you will drive towards Yamphudin. The journey will take you through beautiful rhododendron forests and across several rivers. Yamphudin is a small town located at an altitude of 1670 meters, and you will set up your camp for the night.

Day 44: Yamphudin – Khewang – Camp

Today, you will drive to Khewang, a small village located at an altitude of 1915 meters. Along the way, you will pass through several small villages and beautiful landscapes. You will set up camp in Khewang for the night.

Day 45: Khewang – Panchami – Camp

Today, you will trek to Panchami, a small village located on a hilltop with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The trail passes through lush forests and small villages along the way. You will set up camp in Panchami for the night.

Day 46: Panchami – Ghopetar

You will continue your trek downhill from Panchami to Ghopetar, where you will end your trekking journey. In Ghopetar, you can relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery around you. You will stay overnight in a local lodge.

Day 47: Ghopetar drives to Biratnagar & fly back to Kathmandu

After breakfast, you will take a scenic drive to Biratnagar, a city located in the southeastern Terai region of Nepal. From there, you will take a short flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will transfer to your hotel for a well-deserved rest.

Day 48: Kathmandu

Today is a free day in Kathmandu, where you can explore the city at your leisure, do some souvenir shopping or just relax and reflect on your journey.

Day 49: Kathmandu

Another free day in Kathmandu for any last-minute shopping or sightseeing before your departure.

Day 50: Final departure, transfer to airport

Today, your journey comes to an end as you transfer to the airport for your onward journey back home.
