The trek will take you through beautiful landscapes with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. You’ll pass through forests of pine and rhododendron, cross rivers and streams, and trek through valleys and ridges to reach the base camp.

On this day, you’ll trek from Manang to Yak Kharka, ascending gradually through beautiful landscapes of alpine meadows, forests, and mountain vistas. You’ll cross the Thorong Khola and pass through the small settlements of Gunsang and Ghyaru before reaching Yak Kharka, a small settlement with a few lodges, where you’ll spend the night.

After breakfast, you’ll trek towards Thorung Phedi or Thorung High Camp, depending on how you’re feeling and how well you’ve acclimatized. This is the most challenging day of the trek, as you’ll be crossing the Thorung La pass, the highest point of the trek at 5416m. You’ll start very early in the morning, around 4-5 am, to avoid the strong winds and snow that can make the crossing difficult. The trail is steep and rocky, and you’ll need to take slow and steady steps to avoid altitude sickness. Once you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Himalayas and the surrounding valleys. You’ll then descend towards Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists, where you’ll spend the night.

On this day, you’ll trek down towards Jomsom, a beautiful town located on the banks of the Kali Gandaki River.
