Permits & Regulations:
- Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Permit (KCAP): To enter the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area, climbers need to obtain a KCAP. This permit is issued by the National Trust for Nature Conservation and can be obtained through a registered trekking agency in Nepal.
- Restricted Area Permit (RAP): The Kanchenjunga region is a restricted area, and climbers need to obtain a RAP from the Nepalese government. This permit is issued by the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu and requires a minimum of two climbers.
- Mountaineering Royalty: Climbers need to pay a mountaineering royalty fee to the Nepalese government to climb Mt Kanchenjunga. The amount varies based on the season and number of climbers.
- Trekking Agency: Climbers are required to climb with a registered trekking agency in Nepal.
