We visit the Bouddhanath next. This colossal Stupa , one of the unique monuments is said to be one of the biggest artifacts of Buddhist architecture in the world. Pilgrims from as far as Tibet, Dolpo, and Mugu visit this location. The stupa is 36 meters tall and prayer wheels are established into its base. Several myths about the origin of the Stupa make it even more mystical.

 

The next location to visit is Syambunasth, one of the ancient holiest of Buddhist Chaityas. The mosaic of small stupas, incessant number of monkeys and pagoda temple makes it one of the most visited locations in Nepal. The All Seeing Eyes of Lord Buddha denotes compassion, royalty, knowledge, and nirvana.

 

The day comes to an end as we visit Kathmandu Durbar Square. The Durbar square has housed kings of different dynasties. Examples of exclusive architecture and hand woven designs make one of the most important UNESCO World Heritage sites in Nepal. Taleju Temple, built in 1549 A.D., Jagannath temple; with its erotic figurines, Kal Bhairav; one of the largest stone idol in Kathmandu, Kumari Ghar; the 17th Century Kumari Temple and the complex of the towering Nautale Durbar and the vast Badantapour Square are the major attractions of Kathmandu Durbar Square.
